DJ SAMMY SKATES
DJ Sammy Skates is a fully qualified roller skating instructor, experienced DJ & accomplished bass guitarist whose passion for music & skating has inspired audiences for decades. A founding member of the 1980s Brit-funk bands Savanna (I Can't Turn Away) & LW5 (Ripe for the Picking), Sammy has built a lifelong career in entertainment. Today, he owns & runs Skating Haven, London's largest family roller disco, introducing people of all ages to the fun of roller skating. He is also the resident DJ for Make It Funky, held every third Saturday of the month & also the name of his ThamesFM show, where he keeps dance floors moving with the best in funk, soul, R&B & club classics. Whether on skates, behind the decks or on the airwaves, DJ Sammy Skates continues to bring people together through his love of music & community. Catch his past shows here.
