Mr.Thamesfm himself, Kelly B has more years broadcasting than most of us have had hot dinners. He has been at the heart of London's music scene since he was a young 'un, and starting as a dancer then progressed to make music and spin it at clubs and on various of London's legendary soul stations. The Lowrider style, the crossover 70s deep soul sound was something he introduced to London's discerning ear. His Vinyl Soul Shuffle Show is a staple - a weekend event - every Sunday from 8am to midday, he will pep you up, spin you around as he explores and digs deep down to unearth yet more gems - old sounds breaking new ground. Kelly B is a one-off.
Join him and catch his past shows here.

Johnny has been immersed in music and club culture from a young age.
After years on the rockin’ scene and then the northern soul scene, he started up the now legendary Valatone Soul Sessions. Originally a warm-up night for the 6T’s All-nighters at the 100 Club, Valatone soon gained its own dedicated following who appreciated the No Music Policy policy.
‘We gave our DJs the freedom to play whatever they wanted without the pressure to fill the floor.”
This approach created a real experimental vibe that gave light to many overlooked and often forgotten tracks that are now considered classics.  ‘’ We definitely scratched an itch”
Sadly Valatone closed its door in 2007. But by popular demand and strong arm pressure from our stalwart veterans we put on a few reunion gigs at The Fiddlers Elbow in Camden. They were such a runaway success that they are annual fixtures now.
Johnny has always been a keen vinyl collector and DJ. His tastes range from all areas, doo wop to disco and all sorts in between. He has played at many all-nighters, clubs, weekenders, parties and festivals, including three separate stints at Wayne Hemingway’s Vintage Festival, where he performed on the Let it Rock, the Soul Casino and the Live Soul Stages.
Johnny’s show will feature a bit of everything from his collection, encompassing four decades of vintage music and the odd new release.
Tune in to Thames Fm on Saturday afternoons from midday to 2pm and join him on his wonderful journey through time as Johnny Valatone's House Party takes to the airwaves and transports you to sunnier and groovier times.
