DJ Robbie has been in and around the Soul music scene since he could walk. He was always a Soul Boy and growing up in East London he had a passion for the dance moves and music of his elders. He collected vinyl from an early age and was one of the founding members of Natural High Sound system. He has carried on ever since, DJing in clubs, putting on events and presenting on various radio stations ever since. His passion is the funky soulful jazz funky music of the 70s and 80s. Clive Brady is a Soul Music legend, Clive started his career as a live events DJ in the very hot summer of 1976 before becoming a London club DJ in 1980. It was 1985 when Clive began broadcasting his jazz funk and soul show on London's LWR, and now shares his broadcasting wonders with over 120 Radio Stations, including Thames FM. One of our newer DJs, DJ Funk E Fish, or Anthony Sturgeon is another of the east coast massive who are a part of the Thamesfm family, his Deep Sea Funk Show on Saturdays 4-6 is full of funk from start to finish. Deep, raw, rare and full of funkiness, Fish has been on the Funk scene for years, and has featured as top billing and alongside super jocks, so fine is his funk. Mr.Thamesfm himself, Kelly B has more years broadcasting than most of us have had hot dinners. He has been at the heart of London's music scene since he was a young 'un, and starting as a dancer then progressed to make music and spin it at clubs and on various of London's legendary soul stations. The Lowrider style, the crossover 70s deep soul sound was something he introduced to London's discerning ear. Hailing from north London, Paul began collecting in the late 70s where his love of roots and culture was formed in blues dances and by following sounds. He began DJ-ing in the 80s in The Soul Soc across the midlands and back in London into the early 90s at one-offs and house parties. Brett's Southcoast Soul- A-Coaster is on every Thursday 4-6, and Brett brings you some sweet solid soul filled sounds. Coming from Birmingham, Brett was playing Funk, Soul and Disco before he knew what it was. 'It was just what we played so I've literally grown up with it'. A history which started in Radio for the Birmingham Hospital's Broadcasting Network covered 23 hospitals in and around Birmingham before moving on to the DJ and club scene. All this stood him in good stead for the next move into entertainment working at a large holiday centre on the southcoast where you had to carry out the work wearing a Red jacket. No clues. The circle has finally been completed and Brett is back playing Funk, Soul and Disco. After several cassettes and participations in compilations of the time, in 1988 Aless released "Disagreeable Mental Defective (The God's Curse)". In 2017 his work " Spannung " featured in the monumental work published in Russia" Viva Italia "(Independent Electronic Music). At the end of the 80s his project evolved into Nova Exprexx. In 1994 there was a further mutation called Oscillator. Since 2004 Geo has been active as Circuitry Man: releasing two albums in 2018 and publishing old material on Bandcamp. Sunni D is another of our younger DJs. He has got the funky bangers for you! Every Friday from 12pm-2am pn his Nocturnal Grooves Show, you can catch Daniel spinning the slickest funk, soul, disco and all things in between. An up and coming DJ in the North London scene, he enjoys a blend of international sounds, from Brazilian soul to African funk, and a little bit of tech house on the side.
